Courses are free and aimed at people who aren't in education or employment. Please contact us to book a place. 

Introduction to Joinery       

Next course in April

Learn how to use tools, measure, cut and join timber. You will make a variety of items to take home, including a picture frame, birdbox and table. Participants who complete the course will gain an OCN accredited award "Introduction to Carpentry and Joinery". One half day session per week for 9 weeks.

 

Basic DIY                    

Starts Tuesday 6 March 1-4pm

Learn how to do simple jobs around the home, including putting up shelves, painting a room, changing a lock, draughtproofing windows, simple plumbing jobs and more. One session per week for 4 weeks.

 

Basic Plumbing   

Starts 5 March Full - next course in April

Learn how to do simple plumbing jobs, cut and join pipes and how a domestic water and central heating system work. One session per week for 4 weeks.

 

Basic Cycle Maintenance  

Next running in March

Learn how to fix a puncture, adjust brakes and gears, clean and maintain your bike. Bring your own bike. One session.

Making Houses Homes

Planned for spring 2012

A week of easy, practical crafts making useful and beautiful items for your home. Would you like to come and have a go at sewing, knitting, woodwork or mosaic, and make your house more homely?

Drop in at any time between 11am and 3pm. Free, no need to book. Beginners very welcome. Further programme details will be added nearer the time.

Please contact us if you'd like to volunteer to help out with this week - if you can help to teach people craft skills, welcome people, do publicity, make bunting or other items for the room or anything else.
